An exciting donation was recently received in the form of a Friendly Society Banner from the village of Horsington, near Templecombe, Somerset.

Current exhibition at the Town House, Yeovil

 

The current exhibition at the Town House is Crime and Punishment, a history of justice in Yeovil since Anglo-Saxon times.  On display are handcuffs actually used in the Town House when it was a police station.

 

Remembering Booklet

 

The Remembering booklet that was produced for each school child in South Somerset in 2014 to commemorate the outbreak of the First World War is now available for purchase.  They cost £3.50 each and can be obtained from Yeovil and Cartgate Tourist Information Centres or from CHAC, please make cheques payable to SSDC.

 

   

Finds Session

 

The next date for the Finds Session here at CHAC is Thursday 27th April 2017 from 2pm.  Please contact us by e-mail on heritage.services@southsomerset.gov.uk or ring 01935 462855 if you would like to come and you have over five items to be identified, otherwise please just turn up.

 

 

Photograph Session 

 

The date of our next photographic session is yet to be arranged, keep checking for updates.  These sessions are free but please book as numbers are limited.  To book please e-mail  heritage.services@southsomerset.gov.uk or ring us on 01935 462886.  Numbers are restricted to ten people to enable everyone to view the collection easily.
